It's even more frustrating when you farm and spend and end up broke. You on the other hand have a game to finish. You'll earn money and have fun doing it.

Exactly what everyone said, play the game finish it at least once. It's a great way to make money and enjoy yourself while making it. Besides capping the skills is way cheaper than using elite tomes.

You really need to beat the game before you start complaining about being broke, it doesnt cost anything to go ont to the next quest/mission and you should be fine with the "free" skills you get by following the storyline. If you must have some gold go into the nearest explorable area and start killing stuff.

Get your last lvl and all your remaining attribute points. Then get some max armor and get yourself to where you need to go to cap your elite skill.
As mentioned, tomes aren't exactly meant for new players. |

Tomes suck if you have only 1 character. Last night I finally broke down and used two tomes, 1 Monk Elite and 1 normal Ele. Both I found doing Gates of Kryta in HM.
Anyway, as others have said, play the game through, and do all of the quests. Then you will have about 100k or so by the time you finish the game (most likely more). Have you gotten your 2 free signets of capture yet? Lol, I caped just about all of Prophecies before I actually completed the quest in Kaneing Center to get Orion's Tome (yeah, my Rit/x was on a caping spree in Tyria, and yes, I capped all Rit elites in Factions). I find money very free flowing when you do quests. Eventually I just used money to buy ID Kits and Expert Salvage Kits. Materials are a nice way to make 1k (once you have 250 of each). Minor Runes Salvaged is another way to make 1k. As my understanding goes, Tomes are to unlock skills that have been unlocked on your account. If your character has the skills, you can't use the tome to get them again (nice way to prevent you from making a mistake). So if this is your first character (Rit/mo or N/Me), then it is a waste to get them. If you are in Senji's Corner (hence, Rit/Mo/N/Me), then continue on and work on getting your elites. What elites were you looking for anyway? |

I am not going to flame you... you sound like you don't know the game. My honest opinion is to join a guild that is active and helps the new guy! Don't join an inactive guild because that will limit your growth as a player. Utilize the net... google... wiki... guru... etc... to learn about the game. Most importantly, ask question after you have researched the topic and cannot find an answer. Not everyone in guildwars is rude or dismissive. If you need any help in game, pm me.
